CORSE Parochial Church Council are holding a concert in St Margaret's Church, Corse on Saturday September 30, as their first fund-raising effort towards the cost of work to be done on the east end gable and the porch. And it is hoped the work will be able to go ahead without too much delay.

Rena Harley and Phyllis Priday, two members of Corse and Staunton Village Hall Committee, have organised a jumble sale for next Saturday (September 16) at 2pm. When together with other committee members and friends they will be manning the various stalls which will include jumble, white elephant, cakes, books, toys, a raffle and refreshments. Please support your village hall.

Although at times it looked threatening we were lucky with the weather for the Annual Church Fete which was held in the gardens of Forthampton Court on Saturday, September 2.

The Grand Raffle prize winners were:- 1st price, Digital Radio - Mrs Lawrence, Tewkesbury, 2nd Mr Nidd, 3rd Mr Gittins, 4th Mrs C De Haan, 5th Mr Horwood, 6th Mr Crook, 7th Mr Morris, 8th Mrs D Lewis, 9th Mr A Lewis, 10th Mr M Bradley, 11th Katie Preece, 12th Mr Holloway.

Trade was brisk on the stalls and approximately £1,500 profit was made to boost the Church Funds.
