CAMPDEN Young Cricketers Under-13s registered a 130-run triumph over visitors Hook Norton in the last of their end of season friendlies.
Batting first Campden openers Tim Peachey and Mark Boydell got their team off to a flying start with 31 off four overs.
The run feast continued with brisk knocks from Michael Byrd (15), Alex Thompson (20) which helped hoist Campden to a formidable total of 304 which was to prove too much for Hook Norton.
Rob Payne (3-4) put a stranglehold on the Hook Norton early order which never got broken.
At 195-6 the visitors were in dire straits but Ben Carpenter (14) led a brief recovery until Ben Hughes (2-8) and Jim Sipthorp (3-4) prevented any further progress as Hook Norton tumbled to 173 all out.
The match was sponsored by Cutts of Campden.
The club is staging its annual awards evening tomorrow night at Ebrington Village Hall from 7.45pm.
The prizegiving will be preceded at 7pm by a display of fielding skills at Ebrington CC, involving youngsters from aged 6 to 14.
