A YOUNG mother-of-two found herself more than £50,000 richer after a weekend game of bingo in Worcester.

The 23-year-old from Malvern, who asked not to be named, won the National Bingo Game prize of £50,000 by completing a full house in 38 numbers, the fewest anywhere in the country.

She also won the regional prize of £2,759 and the house prize of £16. The woman, who is married and has a three-year-old son and an eight-month old daughter, has been a member of the Majestic Bingo Club in Warndon since 1996 and plays "now and again".

On Saturday afternoon she "just fancied having a go" and went along on her own.

Her first thoughts on spending the prize money were to buy a new car and have a holiday. Majestic Bingo Club owner Roger Cooper said it was the club's first win on the Saturday afternoon National Game and that the venue was "delighted for the young lady".

The National Bingo Game is played every day of the year except Christmas Day, with two games on a Saturday. Since it began in June 1986, £600m has been paid out, with the total weekly pay-out now more than £1m.
