WEDDING celebrations turned sour at a golf club near Worcester following a family argument.

Police were called after tempers flared at the Bank House Golf and Country Club in Bransford.

One witness claimed he saw a "massive fight" erupt in front of around 450 guests, at about 2.30pm on Bank Holiday Monday.

"One man was hit with a chair and suffered a cut to his head," he said.

But Worcester city councillor Nazrul Islam, who was a guest at the event, said the trouble was over quickly.

"I didn't see exactly what happened but two guests got into an argument. One was hurt and he needed it to be treated at hospital," he said.

"But he returned about half-an-hour later and there was no problem."

A spokesman for the club confirmed there had been a "punch-up between two people, which the family sorted out".

Vicki Davies, spokeswoman for Worcester police, confirmed officers had attended.

"The injured party didn't want to make a complaint," she added.
