CHURCH FETE: Today (Thursday) Sherborne Church Fete is due to take place in the Victoria Hall from 10am-4pm. Stalls and refreshments. Keith Fuller, the glassblower, will also be present from 9am-5pm giving demonstrations and exhibiting his wares.
VILLAGE FAIR: On Saturday, Cold Aston hosts its fair with events around the village. Starting at 1.30pm there will be music from the Chedworth Silver Band on the Green, a dog show, model railway display and flowers in the church. Lots of stalls and teas and ample parking. Proceeds to church funds and local charities.
AUCTION: On Saturday, at the Royal British Legion Hall, Tayler and Fletcher holds a workshop tools auction, at 10am.
PLAY: Sheridan's The Rivals is being performed on Saturday, at Sherborne Lodge Park, at 7.30pm. You can picnic from 6pm onwards and bring your own seating. Tickets (£8.50 adult, £5 children) on 01285-851237.
CHURCH FETE: Nest Tuesday, St John the Baptist, Great Rissington, church fete takes place in Victoria Hall, from 10-5pm. Stalls and refreshments.
ST LAWRENCE'S DAY: Next Wednesday there will be a celebration Communion in St. Lawrence's Church, at 10am to honour its Patronal saint. Coffee and a cake stall will be available afterwards.
WALK: The Little and the Great, taking in the water meadows, the Rissington and Bourton Lakes (eight miles), next Wednesday, at 10am from the National Trust Watermeadows car park, Northfield Barn, near Sherborne.
PARISH CLERK: Bourton Parish Council's new clerk, Colin Graham has taken over from Joan Burdett.
