Distraught mothers on an Alvechurch estate have petitioned the area's authorities for the children's play area they thought they were going to have.
"We were all under the impression that a kids' play area was supposed to be provided for us," said Mrs Pat Gould, of Buckleys Green, on Crown Meadow estate.
"And then for some reason, it was simply quashed."
The estate was designed on an open plan basis with no fences being permitted between gardens and there are green areas as well.
"The green areas look like tips, with paper and ice cream wrappers and bricks lying everywhere and the little kids kick balls about all over the place," said Mrs Gould.
