IN response to Olivia Clayton (Letters, July 8) I have voiced, through these columns and to my local councillor, very strong objection at the city council for imposing these 'bins' upon the council tax payer. When passing through Stourport recently, I stopped, only for the sake of research, alongside a bank of these monstrosities and I have to say the aroma was sickening.
Additionally, the visual aspect was equally unappealing. Do not overlook the fact that the bins remain at the kerbside after the collectors have called. But this council insists in degrading this city and will waste tax payers' money to achieve it. Write to Councillor Paul Denham. He chaired the 'work' that brought about this decision. The council may change its mind but I am not holding my breath although I will have to when the bins are on the streets every other week.
JOHN PEDLEY,
Worcester.
