DAVE Busst is confident his Evesham United side can see off the challenge of Tiverton Town in tonight's FA Cup first qualifying round replay (7.45).

The Robins took the tie back to Common Road after gaining a 1-1 draw in Devon despite being down to 10 men for almost half-an-hour.

Striker Jermaine Clarke gave United an early lead before the hosts hit back at Ladysmead with a shot that deflected off Adam Cooper.

Midfielder Steve Duncan was shown red after apparently striking an opponent, but Evesham held firm courtesy of several fine late stops from goalkeeper Dave Adey.

"I'm confident we can come through," said manager Busst. "Both sides will fancy their chances. But let us see how they handle coming here tonight.

"We deserved a replay. I felt when we took the lead we were more than on top. Jermaine scored a good goal and we were playing well.

"Even when we went down to 10 men in the second-half, I didn't feel we had many problems. They put us under a bit of pressure and Dave Adey made a couple of good saves.

"But we had three of the worst officials I've known at this level. It was not an overly physical game, but the referee was booking people all the time for little things, like kicking the ball away.

"Steve Duncan did not kick out. He got tangled with their player and then caught the lad with his knee, but there was nothing malicious in it."

Duncan's three-match ban is not expected to become active until after the fixture, but Gavin O'Toole is on stand-by for a return to the squad.

If Evesham progress to the second qualifying round, they travel to Hellenic Premier Division Highworth Town on Saturday, September 24.
