MINDLESS vandalism of Redditch Bus Station's escalators is forcing the Kingfisher Centre to fork out more than £45,000 a year.
Kingfisher Centre manager, Ian McLelland, said he was frustrated after receiving numerous complaints about escalators not working.
He said: "We do our best to maintain the escalators, despite repair costs being £3,000 a time, but we're getting the blame for vandals who return time and again to damage our property."
CCTV has been installed at the station and a security guard is on duty at the bottom of the escalator.
He added: "We're doing everything we can to stop this malicious vandalism."
