THE new Cotswold League season started on Tuesday night with four close games in the A Division.

Holders Dormer House showed that they will again be a force to be reckoned with as they beat Ilmington 2-1 thanks to two goals from Sam Elson with Ned Plackett netting for the losers.

Dormer then went 2-0 down to the Chipping Campden School team and seemed ready for a drubbing after George Woodall and Conall Davies had finished off some fine moves.

Unfortunately, the senior school then had two players sent to the sin-bin in the space of a few seconds and were punished as Elson and Henry Leonard scored to make it 2-2.

CCS probably had the best of the rest of the match, hitting a post and having a penalty shot saved, but they couldn't grab a winner.

The host school had earlier demolished Blockley 6-0 with Robbie Powell (2), Max Outteridge (3) and Harry Pinfold on target.

This didn't justice to an otherwise good performance from the Blues who also lost 3-0 to Ilmington when Plackett and George Matts (2) both found the net.

There's initial action in Section B next Tuesday night.
