SUMMER signing Ryan Young wants to leave Redditch United less than two months into the season.

The former Hednesford Town goalkeeper arrived at the Valley Stadium in a blaze of publicity but now wants to quit the struggling Nationwide Conference North outfit.

Young has conceded 15 goals in his first seven games and is unhappy at being blamed for some of his side's defeats.

It is another blow for Reds boss Rod Brown who saw his side slump to the foot of the table following Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Alfreton Town.

"Ryan has told me that he is not enjoying his football with us and that he is upset at other players blaming him for some of the goals." Brown explained.

"Things have been said in the dressing room and he is a sensitive lad. But I don't want anyone playing for the club if they are unhappy.

"It is a pity - I have enough on my plate without having to sort this out.
