A UNIQUE calendar produced by Kidderminster Camera Club to celebrate its centenary has been presented to the town.

The club's president, Ray Postings, visited the town hall to hand over the special gift to mayor, councillor Peter Dyke.

The club has joined forces with the Shuttle/Times & News to create the 2006 souvenir, which is already selling fast after going on sale earlier this month.

The calendar charts some of the changes seen in Kidderminster since the club was formed in 1906 and also showcases the skills of today's members.

The delicate feathers of barn owls and the soft petals of roses underline the club's expertise in modern photographic techniques, while archive images from the last 10 decades have been used to give a snapshot of life in Kidderminster over the last 100 years.

Old photographs set alongside contemporary images of the same scenes give a fascinating illustration of how the townscape has evolved.

The calendar, costing £7.50, can be obtained from Shuttle/Times and News offices in Kidderminster and Stourport, and from post offices at Wolverley and Arley.

It comes with a strong cardboard envelope so that it can be posted to relatives and friends as a Christmas gift.
