THREE Harriers fans put their best feet forward to raise money for a supporters group and a cancer charity by walking 160 miles from Aggborough to Grays Athletic.

Tim Price, Jonathan Smith and Dave Goode, all aged 20, pulled in £1,300 for the FA-backed testicular awareness campaign and £700 for the Kidderminster Harriers Independent Supporters Trust (KHIST).

The intrepid trio took a week to complete their epic journey, camping along the way, and even pitched their tent for a night's sleep in central London's Hyde Park.

They were given a rapturous reception by Harriers and Grays fans at the Recreation Ground before Saturday's 2-2 draw - with the home supporters donating £600 towards the cancer charity.

In recognition of their efforts, the three will attend this weekend's home game against Forest Green Rovers as guests of chairman Barry Norgrove and will be paraded on the Aggborough pitch.

Smith admitted they were exhausted after completing the trek - but had already started plotting their next fund-raiser.

"It was exhausting. We've all got a few blisters and a few aches and pains but it was definitely worth it," he said.

"The reaction we were given by the away fans and the home fans at Grays was wonderful and it just shows what you can achieve when football fans are united.

"We were only expecting to raise £1,000 so to almost double that is better than we could have possibly hoped for.

"We're going to get our heads together to see what we can do next."

Anybody wishing to donate money can do so before Saturday's match when members of KHIST will be rattling buckets outside the ground.
