A JUDGE denounced as "shameful" a reveller's insulting behaviour in a Kidderminster nightclub last Christ-mas Eve.

Daniel Brighton straddled a youth on the floor of Redwoods and touched him over his clothing, Worcester Crown Court heard.

His not guilty plea to affray was accepted by prosecutor Delroy Henry on the day 26-year-old Brighton, of Mill Lane, Kiddermin-ster, was due to face trial by jury.

Instead, he admitted a charge of public disorder and the case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report.

Mr Henry said Brighton did not intentionally touch the 19-year-old victim's genitals but was reckless in his actions.

He sat on the teenager's chest and touched him over his underpants after the teenager's trousers were pulled down.

Michael Aspinall, defending, said Brighton was a man of previous good character.

Granting Brighton bail, Judge Andrew Geddes told him: "This was a very shameful incident."
