Birmingham League

KIDDERMINSTER Victoria's Birmingham League seconds need to win at Leamington Spa and hope Harborne and Old Hill both slip up on Saturday to make sure of their second successive 2nd XI Premier Division title.

With last weekend's wet weather scuppering KVCC's showdown with Old Hill, Harborne grabbed top spot with a winning draw against Knowle and Dorridge in the division's only completed game.

Going into the final Saturday, Harborne, who host West Bromwich Dartmouth, are top with 297 points. KVCC have 292 points, five more than Old Hill, who host Knowle and Dorridge.

Worcestershire County League

Bewdley

IN the Crusader Worcestershire County League, Bewdley firsts finished mid-table in Division One after a losing draw against Alvechurch and Hopwood in a reduced overs match.

Alvechurch won the toss and elected to bat, making 317-5. Jono Boult did most of the damage with the ball with 5-97.

In reply Bewdley agreed to persevere to at least 25 overs so that a result could be reached, and Boult hit a superb 112 no in Bewdley's 152-5. The home team took 14 points while Bewdley had just six.

Result: Alvechurch 317-5, Bewdley 152-5.

Bewdley second team's match was called off after just nine balls.

Chaddesley Corbett

CHADDESLEY Corbett's Division One first team match against Luctonians was abandoned due to the rain.

Chaddesley earned 10 points, to Luctonians' nine.

Result: Chaddesley 206-6, Luctonians 159-3.

Cookley

COOKLEY seconds began their match at Worcester Nomads, but in the end the match was rained off. Nomads took nine points, Cookley seven.

Result: Worcester Nomads 260-5 dec, Cookley 47-2.

Stone

STONE dominated most of their friendly match at Peopleton, but had to be content with a draw.

Batting first, Stone made 227-5 declared, with Jamie Batsford's first century for the club (106no).

Peopleton made a spirited start to their innings but Gary Bourke's bowling (6-43) restricted them to 165-8.

Result: Stone 337-5 dec, Peopleton 165-8.
