I WRITE with reference to the city council's decision to close the main doors to the Guildhall.

I applaud the council for the years of hard work that have resulted in considerably improved access to this historic building. However, as a blind Worcester resident I could not disagree more with reasoning which states that there is stigma attached to the use of a separate door by those who cannot climb the steps.

Personally, I would never wish to deprive others of the pleasure of the interior view enjoyed while the doors are open .I appreciate possible security concerns, but please, don't talk of possible stigma as a reason for keeping the doors closed!
