IN the second round of games in this year's thesoccersite.co.uk Malvern Football League, two potential title hopefuls met at Ross Road, Ledbury, when Oak Allstars entertained Cross Keys and a very tight game ensued.

Oak Allstars took the lead when Lee Clueit fired home, only to be pegged back five minutes later when Mike Cole equalised from 25 yards.

The second-half was a hard-fought affair and it was Oak Allstars who took the lead in the 65th minute when Jamie James scored. At the same time, they went down to 10 men when Neil Gardener was sent off following a scuffle.

Cross Keys tried hard for the equaliser but a determined Oak Allstars held firm until the last minute when a long punt up the field by Cross Keys' keeper Craig Humphries found Rob Cullen. As the ball dropped over his shoulder, he swivelled and fired home a superb volley to give Cross Keys the equaliser and a valuable point.

Dynamo Ledbury went to the top of the table when they visited newcomers Fromes Hill Reserves. The home side were treated to a baptism of fire in their first league game and went down by 1-11. Dynamo's goals came from Gerwyn Lloyd, keeper Mark Davies, two for Ray Shakesheff and hat- tricks for Adam Thomas and Nathan Dixon, with the home side's response coming from John Gittens.

Morgan Aero 8 continued their fine start to the season at Oak Misfits where, in a topsy-turvey game, they eventually won 7-4. Morgan took an early 2-0 lead only to be pegged back and concede four goals. Three goals in five second-half minutes saw them regain the lead, which they increased by a further two goals before the 90 minutes were up. Misfits' scorers were Tim Rutherford, Chris Goodrum, Asa Smith and Jason Emery, who had an excellent game and was a constant problem for the visitors. Morgan's scorers were Dave Lawrence, Philip Dunne, Martin Philpotts, Conrad Arnold and a James Argent hat-trick.

If it's goals you want to see, Ganglands are the team to follow, after only two games their supporters have seen 23 goals. Following last week's 5-8 defeat, they bounced back to beat Talbot Head 7-3. Ganglands' goals came from Clive Hill, two from Gordie Mansell and four from the impressive Wayne Cadmore, who has now notched up seven in just two appearances. Talbot Head's goals came from Dave Schooling , Adam Webb and Tom Hoften.

Fromes Hill visited Keys Victoria and took the points with a 3-1 victory courtesy of goals from Shaun Taylor, James Lumb and Stuart Smart, with Keys Victoria's response coming from Kevin Grey.

Bell Inn 98 opened their campaign with a 2-0 victory at Belmont Keys. They took the lead with a good header from Dan Herbert after 20 minutes and were grateful to keeper Luke Ledbury when he made a good diving save from a penalty after 30 minutes. Despite having the majority of the chances, Bell Inn 98 only scored once more through Jim Joyce. The day's only other game saw Ledbury Rangers and Oak Academy share the points with a 1-1 draw.

The highlight of the forthcoming weekend could be at Sling Lane where Cross Keys entertain Ganglands as there could be a goal feast.
