TOWN Reserves started to show their true potential in this match as they completely demolished a poor Darlaston side on Tuesday evening.

DARLASTON TOWN 0, MALVERN TOWN RESERVES 10

As early as the fourth minute Lee Tompkins headed home for the opening goal from a corner.

Goals came thick and fast when Raj Sharma won a penalty, which Danny James tucked away. Chris Fellows set up James for another and Dan Finnigan floated a superb cross-field ball into the path of Fellows who, without breaking stride, hammered the ball through the keeper's legs for goal number four.

Whilst it appeared to be one-way traffic, Darlaston were kept at bay by good defence, where Jack Shipman had a good game and goalkeeper Adrian Whittal-Williams was called on to tip one shot over the crossbar.

Fellows scored a second before Tompkins showed real class rounding the keeper to make it 0-6 at half-time.

In the second hal, live-wire James scored two more goals, there was an own goal form the Darlaston number five, who was pressurised by Rob Hopkins at a corner, and Sharma rounded the keeper for a fine individual goal.

MALVERN TOWN RESERVES 0, BILSTON TOWN 4

AFTER a stunning 10-0 mid-week victory against Darlaston, Malvern Reserves came crashing down to earth with a very poor performance, losing 0-4 to Bilston Town.

Bilston took the lead on 22 minutes when Adrian Whittal-Williams punched the ball to the edge of his box and as it was returned to the far post, Bilston's number eight headed home. Malvern had one chance to get on level terms, when Chris Fellows forced a superb full-length diving save out of the keeper.

In the second half, following a period of substantial pressure Whittal-Williams saved from point-blank range and whilst no-one reacted quickly enough to clear the ball, Bilston's number nine drove it home. Midfielder Sam Pallett was unlucky to see his shot beat the keeper but not the crossbar in the 67th minute.

Raj Sharma, who was one of Malvern's better players, was sent off for a second bookable offence and any chance Town had of staging a recovery departed with him.

In the last five minutes, despite further good saves from Whittal-Williams, Town conceded two more goals to round off a miserable afternoon.

Tomorrow (Saturday), the Reserves are at home to Tenbury.
