THERE were swashbuckling goings on when a top author held a workshop at a town bookstore.
Justin Somper appeared at Ottakar's, in High Street, for an interactive event with year-six children from Parkside Middle School, in Stourbridge Road.
The author of Vampirate - which combines pirate history with vampire myth - read from his book and introduced the characters.
There was a question-and-answer session, quiz and it was rounded off with the chance for Parkside pupils to captain their own pirate or vampire ship and vote which boat they wanted to be on.
