Will there be anything left to identify Bromsgrove as anything other than a dormitory town?

The town is slowly being strangled to death - too many people, shortage of GPs and dentists, a boring, uniteresting shopping area with too few parking spaces. Never mind, at least we have a good hospital, or so we thought. Now even many of its vital services are to be transferred to Worcester - perhaps the powers-that-be want us to die literally because of the time it will take to get to Worcester!

Our Bromsgrove hospital was closed down (fortunately both my children were born at the Bromsgrove hospital) with the promise of the new hospital at Redditch. This decision was not greeted with rapture at the time, but the Alex has provided excellent services. Both my daughter and I have been successfully treated for ovarian cancer, but still require regular check-ups. We both work full time in Birmingham and a check-up appointment will require a day off work to enable us to get to Worcester.

I thought there was a national shortage of doctors, nurses and beds, so why has the decision been made to cut these facilities at the Alex and to transfer them to Worcester? I have not heard anyone say anything complimentary about the Worcester hospitals.
