Football: Midland Combination

THERE is no danger of Feckenham manager Lee Adams tinkering with his team for tonight's Smedley Crooke Cup clash with lower division Cadbury Athletic Reserves.

He is adamant he will be taking every one of the Millers' four cup competitions seriously this season.

"We are only in four cup competitions and I will be treating them all as a priority," said Adams. "I'm not saying we will win the Smedley Crooke Cup because there are some good sides in it but it's definitely winnable.

"My assistant asked if we were going to mix things up and I said 'absolutely not'. I want to stick with the same 11 who won on Saturday to try and get a bit of consistency.

"It's the story of our season, we can beat the best sides in this league on our day but we can get beaten by the worst teams.

"Cadbury play a couple of levels below us - in the same division as our reserves - but it is a potential banana skin because their manager likes to get the ball down and play."

Feckenham sent out a warning to tonight's opponents with Saturday's 3-2 victory over moneybags neighbours Barnt Green Spartak.

"I spoke to their manager GJ before the game as I always do," added Adams. "He said he was disappointed about my comments about us beating big money sides but I don't think pouring money in at this level is good for the game."

The Millers struck a blow for democracy with Ryan Field's 79th minute winner after being pegged back to 2-2 and were indebted to comeback 'kid' Steve Ferguson.

The 44-year-old former striker starred in central defence after playing a number of games for Stratford a week earlier.

The Millers resume their Premier Division campaign at Massey Ferguson on Saturday (ko 2.45pm).
