TRADE union members have taken action to back Operation Covert.
The Wyre Forest branch of Amicus has given £100 to help the appeal to rebuild the Rhydd Covert activity centre torched by vandals a year ago.
Branch member, John Stevens, who works as an engineer at rocket motors factory, Roxel at Summerfield, said: "Every year, the branch likes to support local charities and we were keen to help the Rhydd Covert appeal.
"In the past, the union has helped Kemp Hospice and Age Concern and also generously supported my charity appeal when I was mayor of Kidderminster in 2001-02."
He said Operation Covert was a cause close to his own family's heart because his wife, Della, was a former Scout leader at Stourport and Great Witley and his son, Richard, had been a Beaver, Cub and Scout.
"In fact, they have both camped out at Rhydd Covert so they know first-hand what a great place it is and how important it is to young people in our community," he added.
