STOURPORT face old foes Rushall Olympic at the weekend keen to put back-to-back West Country defeats behind them.

Boss Roy Rencher took a makeshift side to Taunton in midweek and returned with a 4-0 defeat but it was a far better display on Saturday when Swifts lost 3-1 at Clevedon Town, the deciding goals coming in the dying stages of a game that Stouport had dominated for nearly an hour.

The manager included former Kidderminster Harriers youngsters Ben Paszkowec and Mitch Butler in his team but it was midfielder Shaun Findlay who was to play an integral part in the outcome.

The former Sutton Coldfield Town youngster handed Swifts a 25th minute lead with a well-taken goal only to limp off injured at the break. Stourport struggled without him and their Somerset hosts grabbed three second-half goals to take the points.

The equaliser came on the hour when Jack Pitcher punished a weak clearance from Stourport keeper Aaron O'Malley but it took until the 89th minute before Richard French gave Clevedon the lead.

A Roy MacFa-rlane own goal deep in injury time just added to the disappointment.

Taunton midfield pair Gary McAuley and Jason Smith gave the Peacocks an interval lead in midweek

Stourport upped their game in the second half but failed to penetrate a solid home defence and it was left to Pete Sheppard and Adam Springer to add to the tally in the final five minutes.
