TWO quality goals won this Harvey World Travel Midland Alliance fixture at Langland Stadium on Saturday.

MALVERN TOWN 2, OADBY TOWN 0

It was Malvern's 11th league win on the trot and the third game in succession that they have not conceded a goal.

Malvern started brightly and created a number of chances, with visiting goalkeeper Pearson saving from Owen and Shepherd.

Bullock fired wide after Humphries had saved well from visiting striker Fisher, who caused the Town defence plenty of problems.

Duncan Preedy broke through but was denied by Pearson, but with the Tomkins' brothers combining well down the left and Bullock dominant in midfield, Malvern deservedly took the lead in the 35th minute.

Good work by Lee Tomkins set up Darren Bullock, who fired a glorious shot from 20 yards into the top corner of the net.

Malvern were slow starting the second-half and Almond missed a great chance to equalise when he headed wide from close in.

Just inside the hour, Malvern missed a great chance to increase their lead when Shepherd was fouled in the box but Bullock's spot-kick struck the post.

Malvern began to pick up the pace and substitute Phil Preedy, returning to the side after a three-week absence, beat three players before working an opening and firing past the keeper to make it 2-0.

Malvern went close on several occasions but if anything were guilty of shooting when other players were often in a better position.

The Langland Stadium side were deserved winners and kept up this tremendous league run for manager Neil Hunt.

Malvern Town have no game scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday) but return to Midland Alliance action on Tuesday when they entertain Oldbury United at Langland Stadium, kick-off 7.45pm.
