NO beacon for Nelson! What a disgrace to Malvern.
A spokesman for Malvern Hills Conservators said no one had asked for a beacon so they di d not feel justified in spending public money. No one asked?
Do the conservators, or Malvern Hills District Council for that matter, need a prompt to celebrate one of our foremost national heroes. The beacons should have been a spontaneous reaction, similar to that seen in many other towns in Britain.
This denial says little for patriotism in the minds of MHDC or the conservators, with MHDC the main culprit for surely it should have given a lead. Shame on you Malvern.
