RADAR travelled to Badsey to play Evesham league side Bear in the WFA cup last Sunday.

BEAR 4, MALVERN RADAR 3

Driving rain for the first hour didn't spoil a fine cup tie, with crunching tackles from both sides keeping the referee on his toes.

Scott Senter gave Radar the lead, nipping to dispossess the keeper and score from close range. Bear's equaliser was a bit fortunate when Duane Willis' clearance bounced in off a surprised forward.

The home side were playing some nice football and took the lead on the hour with a well-worked goal only for Radar to level when Trevor Bagnall tapped in from close range. Again the home side took the lead with a rocket-angled drive with 15 minutes left and although Radar battled on it was a surprise when Darren Loader again levelled the score with a super 25-yard volley.

In the closing minutes, Andy Bottomley had a great chance when put through one-on-one, only to be denied and the home side snatched victory in the last minute with a glancing header in off the post.

This Sunday, Radar are away to Prinner Sports, meet 9.30am at the RSRE Club.
