SIR - If the Worcester News had its way, Andrew Hall would be hounded out from any home or house he was trying to settle in. Don't get me wrong, I feel just as repelled by Hall's actions as the next man, and as a parent I would do anything to protect my children or anyone else's from being exposed to a sexual pervert.

Mr Hall will serve his sentence and be on the sexual offenders register. On his release, he will have had to be homed to the satisfaction of the police and probation services.

His movements and actions will be closely monitored by the police. Surely that is far better for the community as a whole, than having him hounded and chased to God knows where, and not being monitored by the police?

Carrying on with your crusade will, in my opinion, do no good for the safety of our children. Why do you think the police will not release his photo?

They know that by releasing his photo it will be a passport to hell for Mr Hall - this will force him into hiding, possibly away from the police and probation services. Then our children could well be at risk with this man being at large in the community knowing that he is not being watched and monitored by the police. So please think before you print.

COUNCILLOR GARY KIBBLEWHITE,

Worcester.
