A BROTHER and sister whose ancestors lived in Alcester are appealing to residents to help them research their family tree.
Sally Taylor, who now lives in Droitwich, and her brother Stuart Doughty, who lives in Redditch, contacted the Chronicle to enlist help in finding their forebears.
Mrs Taylor said: "We are researching our family tree and have noticed some of our ancestors lived in and around Alcester, including Arrow and Badsey.
"We have started this family search really out of curiosity as to who our family were and where they came from."
She said they were searching for family members with the name Winnett and had used various websites to track down members through old census reports and had also got information from the Alcestrians Reunited section on the Alcester.co.uk website.
The pair even found someone else looking for their family roots, who turned out to be Angie Jenkins, their granfather's uncle's granddaughter, who now lives in the Forest of Dean.
They have all been in touch and hope to meet after Christmas to exchange stories.
She added they had traced their roots back as far as the 1800s to their great-great-great-great grandmother, Ann Winnett.
"Unfortunately, my grandad passed away a few years ago, along with some of his brothers and sisters, but this has been a great way to keep the family alive and makes great Sunday lunch chat when we're all together."
