THE inaugural West Warwickshire Schools Year 7 (u12s) Rugby Tournament takes place at Alcester Rugby Club on Sunday.

New coaches have been appointed in the county and their task is to forge links with schools; promote the game and provide an opportunity for the new players to continue playing rugby with a club such as Alcester.

Two WRFU community coaches Coventry and England u21 prop Rich Siveter and Coventry and Scotland u21 scrum half Rob Chrystie have been coaching in schools and youngsters will be able to try out their skills at the weekend.

The tournament will be fought out between teams from Alcester High School, St Benedict's RC High School, Alcester Grammar School, Studley High School and Henley in Arden High School.

Matches will be contested by 10-man teams, uncontested five-man scrums and no lineouts will be used. A fair play rule will also be employed which will see points deducted for deliberate foul play or abuse of the referee.

The action starts at 10am on Sunday with the final due at 12.15pm. Rich Siveter and Rob Chrystie will make the presentations at 12.40pm.
