JAMES Bearcroft converted dir-ectly from a corner to open the scoring in Saturday's Ambassador League Cup tie.
Elliot Grady extended the lead when he ran in and fired home from the edge of the area before making it 3-0 after a cross from Tom Evans.
The latter was again provider as Henry Woods volleyed in a fourth.
While Vale's inspired goalkeeper was doing well to keep the score down, United defenders Wes Bur-den, James Coldrick, Colin Philpot and Owen Jones restricted Vale opportunities with a series of well timed tackles, leaving Leon Ballard will little to do.
The busy Harrison Cother created the fifth when his shot was pushed out to Grady who fired home for his hat-trick. Evans then set up Ivan Masica to find the net from 25 yards to complete the scoring.
