STUDLEY manager Kevin Rowlands admits the pressure is on as his side begin to get dragged into a relegation scrap.

The Bees boss was left frustrated as he saw his outfit throw away a lead for the third time in four games and knows he needs to turn things around sooner rather than later.

High-fliers Romulus came from behind to win 3-2 at the Beehive on Saturday leaving Rowlands glancing nervously over his shoulder.

"We have been stuck on 20 points for too long," he confessed. "Teams below us are beginning to close the gap and the players have got to start realising that - they need to get us out of this position."

An early Lei Brown strike handed Romulus a 28th minute lead but Studley hit back through Andy Johnson and Damon Gariff - his first for the club - to go in at the break with a slender lead.

But the second half belonged to the visitors and they took the points thanks to goals from Tyrone Fagan and substitute Melvin Gourlay.

"We are scoring goals but then missing chances and making errors to allow teams back into the game," Rowlands added. "It happened against Hednesford, Causeway and now Romulus.

"Sometimes it is down to individual errors while at other times we are playing football in the wrong areas.

"You can keep telling the players until you are blue in the face but it seems to make no difference.

"On paper we are a very good side but we are underachieving, it's as simple as that. Nothing major is wrong but there is something missing."

Striker Lee Ross came off the bench for the final 35 minutes and, in the absence of holidaying Shane Benjamin, there was a start for Warren Givens.

Benjamin should be back in contention on Saturday when Studley head to Oadby Town with Biddulph Victoria playing host to the Bees on Tuesday.
