PRIMARY SCHOOL: Andy Ferguson has been appointed as head teacher from January 1. In reporting the successful programme of activities already enjoyed, he invited people to attend the Christmas Panto Pandemonium at the village hall on Friday, December 16 at 7pm and the Carol Service and Nativity in St Peter's Church on Tuesday, December 20 at 9.15am.

WEDNESDAY CLUB: The meeting on November 9 was members day when Memories of Bygone Days was related by invited members; these included experiences in the Second World War and early days in Broadway. Items of memorabilia were displayed.

On November 23 Tony Jones gave a talk, with slides, on the work of the Cotswold Warden Service. The present session ended yesterday with the Christmas lunch at the Puckrup Hotel, Tewkesbury, when around 60 members and friends gathered.

CAROL SINGING: The usual carol singing around the Jubilee Tree will be on Christmas Eve from 6.30pm when mince-pies and mulled wine will be served. A collection in aid of the National Children's Homes will be taken.

BIKE RIDE/WALK: Despite bad weather this event in aid of the Historic Churches Trust in Gloucestershire was held and raised £250.

MUNCH BUNCH LUNCH: The next lunch will be on Wednesday, December 21 at 12.30pm at the Methodist Church room. Inquiries to Elizabeth Ingles on 853400.

CAROLS FOR ALL: This annual event organised by Churches Together, with carols, readings, sketches, and handbell ringing, will be at the village hall on Sunday, December 18 at 3pm. Tea and mince pies will be served.

BELL-RINGING: The bells of St Peter's Church will herald in the Christmas season on the morning of Wednesday, December 21 and for the Christmas services.

CHRISTMAS MARKET: The St Peter's Church Christmas Market on Saturday, November 19, at the village hall raised £438 for church funds.

NATIONAL CHILDREN'S HOMES: The October coffee morning at the village hall raised more than £200.

CANCER RESEARCH UK: The house-to-house collection in Willersey raised £692.

VILLAGE FORUM: The next public meeting of the Willersey village forum will be at the village hall on Wednesday, January 11 at 7.30pm. The meeting, which is open to all residents, gives an opportunity to residents to raise matters of local and general interest. As well as a talk on the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme and general policing items on the agenda include car parking, weight restriction order, and any other subject which may be raised at the meeting or notified to the chairman, Maurice Andrews on 858448 in advance.

BURIAL GROUND: The Rector, the Rev David Vince, has given notice that St Peter's churchyard will be closed to all burials and interment of ashes with effect from January 1, 2008. After that date all burials will continue in the parish council burial ground, in the extension now being prepared.

TODDLERS PLAYGROUP CHRISTMAS CAROL MORNING: Toddlers Playgroup Christmas Carol morning will be tomorrow. Proceeds are going towards play equipment for the children.
