A CHOIR from a Rubery school is set to serenade Christmas shoppers in a major Midlands shopping centre when it competes in the grand final of a contest on Friday, December 9.
The sixty strong choir from Holywell Primary School, in School Drive, will be up against 15 other school choirs from across the Midlands.
They will be singing at the very heart of Dudley's Merry Hill Shopping Centre in its Christmas Choir competition.
Teacher and co-organiser of the choir, Kath Ford said: "Every year the quality of the choir gets, better and better!
"It was will be the biggest venue the children have ever performed at but they are really excellent."
The choir, which is made up of pupils from years three to six, performed an unconventional line-up of festive themed tunes, including Silent Night, Benjamin Britten's This Little Old Table and God's Son, which was written by choir organiser Clive Webb.
The choir also performed for pensioners at Rubery's Community Hall on Saturday (December 3). They also have recorded an album, which contains two songs written by Mr Webb, David Essex's A Winter's Tale and Lonely Pup, originally sung by Adam Faith.
