EVESHAM remain in the Coaching Solutions West Midlands Premier bottom three after a 9-1 home tonking at the hands of Finchfield.

Evesham ended the first-half of their league campaign with a disappointing, flat performance.

Player-manager Martin Husbands said: "In sport you have good days and bad days. This was an exceptionally bad one.

"I think a break will do us good and give us time to reflect. We're still a decent side but playing pretty poorly."

There seemed to be little spirit in the side as they went through the motions.

Despite having a strong side available, Evesham played with a lack of confidence. As usual, Seb Seneque and Stuart Harris were Evesham's outstanding performers as they worked tirelessly to inject some life and impetus into their side.

Well-organised Finchfield struck three goals within 15 first-half minutes to leave Evesham chasing the game.

Stuart Bearcroft, back from injury, provided glimpses of pace and skill along the right flank and his pin-point cross was met by Jon Vickery.

But, in a ragged second-half, not even the comeback of Nick Lloyd after six months out could prevent Evesham conceding six more goals.
