DROITWICH Tigers had their claws blunted when they lost to West Midlands Phones B 7-3 in the Bromsgrove and Redditch Table Tennis League Division One.

Two victories each for Fred Harrison, Ian Maybury and Gary Jackson made sure that Phones won. Jackson and Maybury also won the doubles. Rob Atherley won all Droitwich's games.

Droitwich Print got the better of Barnt Green A 7-3, with three wins each for Trevor Simmons and Tony Birch, before the duo teamed up to take the doubles.

Steve Hope (2) and Ian Scott won the matches for Barnt Green. Barnt Green B were too strong for Arrow Vale C, running out 8-2 winners.

Sasha Grokhotov won three matches for Green, while Pat McCabe and Russell Duncan bagged two matches each and the doubles. Mick Kendall won both of Vale's games.

Lickey Monarchs easily overcame West Midlands Phones A, winning 10-0.

In Division Two Carter Retail edged Lickey Rocs 6-4 in a close fought match.

Dot McFarlane won three matches, before teaming up with Martin Borg (who won two matches) to win the doubles. Lynda Davies and Bob Barlow both won two each for Lickey.

SPSP were double winners. They defeated West Midlands Phones C 6-4, with wins for Lester Winterbourne (2) and Phil Govier (2), while Steve Nicholls bagged one. SPSP also beat Arrow Vale C 9-1.

Phones C bounced back from the SPSP defeat to get the better of Droitwich Eagles. Ian Cooper and Jeff Cook won three matches each and the doubles to ensure a 7-3 win.

Graeme Farrall won three matches as Barnt Green Hornets beat Droitwich Villains 8-2.

Bentley Terriers defeated Arrow Vale B 10-0, while Bentley Nomads beat Droitwich Dragons.
