A WOMAN who stole £6,500 from a Redditch bank could receive a jail sentence.

Linda Power dishonestly obtained a bank card in her daughter's name and withdrew the cash from her account.

Power, aged 49, of Lowlands Lane, Redditch, pleaded guilty to 20 specimen offences of theft and one of obtaining cash by deception.

Granting her bail while a pre-sentence report is prepared, Judge John Cavell warned that all sentencing options were open.

He said she stole a substantial amount of money and her crimes were a breach of her daughter's trust.

Worcester Crown Court heard that Power, who has previous convictions for dishonesty, will be asking for a number of further theft offences from Lloyds TSB to be taken into consideration when she is sentenced.

Prosecutor Pardeep Tiwana accepted that the total thefts amounted to £6,500.

Power stole the cash between April and July, 2004, in amounts up to £200.

She pleaded guilty on the day she was due to face trial by jury.
