I REFER to the comments by Paul Chambers concerning the proposed downgrading of the Alexandra Hospital (Advertiser, January 4).

I also have epilepsy, diabetes and angina, I have been admitted to the Alex at various times in recent years and I have never experienced anything like the problems Mr Chambers claims he has.

I have always found the doctors, nurses and other members of the medical team to be professional, efficient and have treated me with dignity.

I most certainly did not have any cause to complain about the medication I received. I received the correct medication when I needed it and the correct amount at the right time.

I feel Selly Oak Hospital is welcome to Mr Chambers.

The staff at the Alex have enough problems and it would be better if he stopped whingeing and whineing and appreciated what was being done for him.

I HAD the misfortune to read Paul Chambers' comments concerning the Alexandra Hospital.

I am totally disgusted with his views.

I have also been in and out of the Alex because I suffer from diabetes.

I have even had a few complications since being diagnosed and now have to attend the eye department for laser treatment.

I have always been treated with kindness and respect and been well informed on my treatment and medications.

The staff have always been helpful and have dealt with any concerns I have over my diabetes.

I honestly believe if Mr Chambers feels this way regarding our hospital, then he should move back to wherever he came from and attend that hospital instead.

I live in Redditch and have done for more than 25 years and never had the so-called problems Mr Chambers says he had.

I am so pleased for the staff and all the medical profession at the Alex when he states he will only go to Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham. They must be relieved to hear this.
