ROD Brown will be hoping his Bromsgrove Rovers side can bounce back from their lack-lustre performance at home to Marlow when they take on Paulton Rovers in Southern League Division One West tomorrow (3pm).

Rovers made their new boss endure a home debut horror show on Tuesday night as they continually shot themselves in the foot on the way to a disappointing 2-0 defeat.

Brown is understandably keen for his players to put this performance out of their minds for the Paulton clash.

He wants them to get back to playing the kind of football that secured him a debut victory when he took Rovers to Bracknell Town last Saturday.

Rovers' defence was often caught napping against Marlow and, in a bid to stamp out such costly errors, Brown has brought in former Worcester City enforcer John Snape as player/coach to add a bit of bite to the side.

Gavin Hurren, who arrived from Kidderminster Harriers earlier this week, is set to continue at the back.

Despite the miserable performance against Marlow, Brown still believes he can get Bromsgrove into play-off contention this season.

He said: "What I want is the fans to get behind the team. We've had four good results and it's important that we keep that going.

"If we can win our games in hand then we are right up there with the main sides."

Brown is set to speak with former Worcester City striker Mark Owen after the club put in a seven-day request last Friday to Malvern.
