MALVERN slumped to a third successive defeat on Saturday, despite an improved performance.

MALVERN TOWN 2, RACING CLUB WARWICK 3

Town fell behind when White went through unchallenged and fired past Humphries in goal. However, Malvern had started well enough and they equalised on ten minutes through Phil Preedy's right-footed shot, finishing off an all-too-rare good passing move.

White should have restored the lead but missed and two weak finishes by Owen was all Malvern had to show before the break.

On 50 minutes, the visitors were ahead when Gordon set up Wood. Malvern's equaliser came on 62 minutes when Shepherd's cross was bundled into his own net by Green.

Whittington curled just wide from a good Malvern move as sub Rik Halion added extra spice and drive in midfield.

Racing Club keeper Payne produced the save of the match to deny Preedy's deflected shot but on 78 minutes, Wood outstripped the static Malvern defence to score what was to be the winner.

Cox and new signing Willetts were sent on as Malvern strived for the equaliser. Payne excelled himself again, keeping out Willetts' volley. At the other end, the post denied Woods a hat-trick.
