PUPILS at a Worcester school put their best feet forward and in doing so raised more than £1,000 for a good cause.
Girls at St Mary's Preparatory School in Battenhall Road gathered for a two-mile sponsored walk from the school to their chosen charity, Acorns Children's Hospice in Bath Road. Headteacher Marianne Baker said: "At the end of a very successful term of fund-raising during Lent, pupils thoroughly enjoyed the walk which led to the hospice and added a great amount to the total raised. It was a lovely day and everyone enjoyed the spring sunshine. Staff at the hospice invited us in for refreshments when we got there which was lovely."
The 65 eight to 11-year-olds raised around £1,500 over the term, which ended on Friday for the Easter holidays, and cash is still pouring in.
