SIR - It's ironic to see David Cameron talking about the problems faced by first-time homebuyers, and describing the gap between those who can afford to buy and those who cannot.
I hope the Conservative-controlled city council is paying close attention to their leader's comments.
In the last few years, the centre of Worcester has become full of "one-bedroom apartments" and "luxury executive accommodation". In the face of increasing "Grinnalisation" of the city, there seems a determination by the council to resist further developments of affordable housing.
I count myself lucky that I already own my home. I certainly wouldn't be helped or encouraged to do it under the city's current policy.
CHRIS WINWOOD,
Worcester.
