MEMBERS of clubs throu-ghout Worcestershire are taking part in the Chees-trings National Age Group championships to find this year's most promising young swimmers.
Galas of the Worcestershire County Cheestrings Age Group Championship took place in Worcester when swimmers aged between nine and 16 turned out in force with individual titles up for grabs as well as awards at stake for those clubs and individuals who scored the highest points.
Also awarded were the BAGCAT - British Age Group Category - trophies - gold, silver and bronze awards won by the three highest scoring competitors in each age group.
Harry Ackland won a gold medal in the boys nine years 200m breaststroke and Cameron Brodie won the BAGCAT bro-nze award by accumulating the third highest total points in the boys 13-year age group.
Some of the winners from the county championships who have clocked regional qualifying times will then compete at regional level and many of those who make the medals will have the chance to compete in the July national finals.
