FILM buffs packed into Studley Village Hall on Friday for the long-awaited launch of its cinema club.
Almost 100 residents enjoyed a screening of the film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera.
Cinema club committee spokeswoman Hazel Wright said: "It went really well and we were very pleased with the turnout. Everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves."
The club's next film will be Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which will be screened on April 29, followed by The Chronicles of Narnia on May 26 and 27.
Mrs Wright said they are asking for villagers to suggest the films they might like to see. Any ideas can be dropped off at the village hall for the committee's attention.
