CASSEY Watson's campaign to win the 750mc's new SAXMAX championship for 14-17 year olds has been given a massive boost.

After impressing former British Touring Car Championship driver Eugene O'Brien at a recent test session, he has volunteered his time to help train the Evesham teenager in the advanced techniques needed to drive her Citroen Saxo VTR on this season.

The 14-year-old said: " After just two days, Eugene has made a significant difference to my driving.

"I thought I was putting in quick times before but now I just can't wait for the first race at Donington next month."

Anybody who enjoys track days in their road cars or are already racing can speak to Eugene on 01604 637119 or visit www.eugeneobrien.co.uk.

"Winning races was always my motivation as a driver and the same is now true a a driver development coach," O'Brien said.

"I see Cassey as a wonderful opportunity to be involved with a future champion from the earliest moments of her career."
