REDDITCH Council could benefit from a share in a multi million Government handout to local authorities.
The cash will be awarded to the council after it signed a Local Area Agreement (LAA), along with 66 other authorities in the region.
A pilot scheme was run last year and it is hoped to be rolled out across the whole country by next April.
LAAs set out agreed priorities for local areas and streamlines Government funding into four areas - children and young people, healthy community and older people, safer and stronger communities and economic development and enterprise.
It is hoped this will allow each LAA to focus on an issue most relevant to the area.
The agreements will incorporate financial incentives for areas to meet targets and Redditch Council will get a share of an immediate payment of £45 million, along with the other authorities that have signed up to the agreements, to help achieve the targets.
