YOU may recall a few weeks ago I put a plea out to your readers to help my family collect for Marie Curie Cancer Care's Great Daffodil Appeal on Saturday, March 25 (Letters, March 15).
Four wonderful members of Redditch Rotary responded and joined my sisters, mum and I in the Kingfisher Centre.
With their help and the generosity of the shoppers, we raised 20 per cent more than last year's £894!
Marie Curie nurses care for cancer patients in their own homes so they can spend the end of their life with family and friends.
Patients who need more specialist care or respite also receive care at the Marie Curie hospice in Solihull.
The Great Daffodil Appeal, supported by Yellow Pages, is one of the most important fundraising activities of the year.
The Redditch collection will make a huge difference to local cancer patients and their families.
