A HEARTBROKEN family, whose dog was stolen from a Bromsgrove home, has been reunited with their pet.

Buster, a two-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier, was taken in January from a house in Catshill where he was being cared for by Diane Newey, on behalf of her daughter, Rebecca, of Charford Road. Now B, as he is known, has been returned to the family after being recovered by south Worcestershire police from an address in the south of the county.

Diane said: "We were all so worried when he was stolen. My other daughter bred him so Rebecca had picked him out after he was born. All the children were upset as Buster is part of the family.

"We were so happy when he was recovered and he seems to have settled back in nicely and seems very happy to be in his old home. Buster also seems to have been looked after while he was away from us, which is something we were all worried about."

PC Stuart Mitchinson, of south Worcestershire police - who was involved in Buster's recovery, said: "I don't think he was too happy to see us at first, but we are delighted that he is back and settled in."

A man has been arrested in connection with the theft and inquiries are on-going.
