SHIRLEY Walker, our president, warmly welcomed members and especially new members to our March meeting.

The annual dinner at the Gate Inn was enjoyed by all and thanks were given to Ann Griffin, who did all the organisation.

At the recent county quiz our team did very well. We may not win, but we are improving every year!

Shirley reminded us that at the next social meeting the committee will be providing jacket potatoes with fillings for supper.

The book group is meeting regularly. The current read is The Minotaur by Barbara Vine. Also Scrabble continues to be enjoyed once a month.

Our speaker was John Monk who gave us amusing anecdotes from a Black Country farmer. Ann Griffin thanked him for entertaining us so well.

The competition, a photograph of your favourite farm animal, was won by Maggie Mason. Sheila Morris was second and Ann Griffin third.

Our next meeting will be next Wednesday. It will be a social evening when members will be able to demonstrate their handicraft skills. The competition will be any handicraft you have made.
