MEMBERS of the ringcraft section of Bromsgrove and District Canine Society were very successful at this year's Crufts Dog Show. Those who achieved a first are to be particularly congratulated, as in the highest competition in the country this is a great achievement, and requires dedication, and a high degree of very professional handling and presentation skills, coupled with a dog of outstanding quality.
Firsts were gained by: Julie Booth's Yorkshire terrier; Rachel Bradley's Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever; Heather Bunney's Afghan hound; Helen and Stuart Buttress' cairn terrier; Helen Cooksley's bichon frise; Hannah Escott's soft coated wheaten terrier; Pat Lakeman's flat coated retriever; Sally Ann Neath Duggan's Dalmation; Angela Prophet's Yorkshire terrier; Steve and Elaine Short's Finnish laphund - who also was best of breed and Kay Tennear's bearded collie.
Second prizes were won by: Mike and Helen Caple's beagle; Nicky Colson's flat coated retriever; Sally and Laura Dale's doberman; Phoebe Darley's English setter; Kathy Magg's Pyrenean mountain dog; Charlotte Mann's curly coated retriever; Wendy Moseley's cairn terrier and Toby Noke's English toy terrier. Other placings were gained by: Lyn Gilbey's Gordon setter; Andrey Haigh's great Dane; Dawn Inett's cairn terrier; Di Morgan's English setter; Lisa Sheldon's Dalmatian; Lesley and Colin Stanley's bichon frise; Keith Taylor's mastiff and Sue Wood's Maltese.
