TWO beautiful spring-flower arrangements, made by president Jenny Marsh and Mary Gray, greeted the members as they entered the hall. News reports told how our quiz-team had represented us very well.
We were asked our opinions on a piece of ware to be made at Royal Worcester to commemorate the 90 year anniversary of the WI in Worcestershire. A donation has been sent in memory of our past national chairman Barbara Gill, which is to used on refurbishing the home economics area at Denman College.
There are two trips in May; one to the Wye Valley, the other in the Teme Valley. Our speaker Jo-Ann Gloger, from the Redditch Needle Museum, presented a very interesting talk, aided by slides, entitled there's more to a needle than meets the eye. A very apt title when she explained the many processes it takes to make a needle. In the past a hard labour-intensive, back-breaking job, which produced millions of needles. A vote of thanks was given by Margaret Neale.
